Hans Gruber Die HardAlan ickman portrayed the character of Hans Gruber in the 1988 action movie Die Hard. Gruber is the main antagonist of the film, a German terrorist who leads a group of criminals in an attempt to rob the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles. Gruber is a master of manipulation and is able to outwit the police and the building"s security team. He is ultimately killed by the protagonist, John McClane.
