Baryonix 3 Baryonyx is a genus of carnivorous theropod dinosaur that lived in the Barremian stage of the Early Cretaceous Period, about 130–125 million years ago. It is known from a single species, Baryonyx walkeri, known from a single specimen which was discovered in 1983 in Surrey, England. The holotype specimen, which is one of the most complete theropod skeletons from the UK, was collected from a clay pit in the Weald Clay Formation of the Lower Cretaceous. It is estimated to have been around 9 m (30 ft) long and to have weighed about 1.2 tonnes (1.3 short tons).
