Mapusaurus 2 Mapusaurus was a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 95 million years ago. It was a member of the carcharodontosaurid family, which includes some of the largest predatory dinosaurs known to have existed. It was a large theropod, with an estimated length of up to 10 meters (33 feet) and a weight of around 4.5 tons. It had a large skull, powerful jaws, and large, sharp teeth, which it used to hunt large prey such as sauropods.
