Cloud Atlas- movie 3 Cloud Atlas is a 2012 science fiction drama film written and directed by the Wachowskis and Tom Tykwer. It is an ambitious adaptation of David Mitchell"s 2004 novel of the same name, and stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, James D"Arcy, Xun Zhou, Keith David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon, and Hugh Grant. The film tells six interconnecting stories set in different times and places, ranging from the 19th century to a post-apocalyptic future. It explores themes of identity, fate, and human nature, and how the actions of individuals affect one another throughout the past, present, and future. The film received mixed reviews from critics, but was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Adapted Screenplay.
