Disobedient- movie Disobedience is a 2017 British drama film directed by Sebastián Lelio and written by Lelio and Rebecca Lenkiewicz. It stars Rachel Weisz, Rachel McAdams, and Alessandro Nivola. The film follows a woman as she returns to the Orthodox Jewish community that shunned her decades earlier for an attraction to a childhood friend. It had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on 9 September 2017.
