According to the Gospel of John, Jesus entered the Temple and found the area filled with merchants selling animals for sacrifice and exchanging foreign currency. He then drove them out, overturning their tables and scattering their coins. This event is seen as an example of Jesus" anger at the desecration of the Temple by those who sought to make a profit from it.
