Finding Nemo 5 Finding Nemo is a 2003 American computer-animated comedy-drama adventure film written and directed by Andrew Stanton, released by Walt Disney Pictures, and the fifth film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The film stars the voices of Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Alexander Gould, and Willem Dafoe. The film tells the story of the overprotective clownfish father Marlin (Brooks) who, along with a regal tang named Dory (DeGeneres), searches for his abducted son Nemo (Gould) all the way to Sydney Harbour. Along the way, Marlin learns to take risks and come out of his shell, while Nemo gains independence and comes to terms with his father"s love. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $936 million worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time, until it was surpassed by another Pixar film, Toy Story 3 (2010). It won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and was nominated in three more categories, including Best Original Screenplay. The film was re-released in 3D in 2012. A sequel, Finding Dory, was released in 2016.
