Flashforward-TV series FlashForward is an American science fiction television series that aired for one season on ABC from September 24, 2009, to May 27, 2010. The series was based on the 1999 novel Flashforward by Canadian science fiction writer Robert J. Sawyer. It revolves around the lives of several people as a mysterious event causes nearly everyone on Earth to simultaneously lose consciousness for two minutes and seventeen seconds. During this "blackout", people see what appear to be visions of their lives six months in the future. The show was canceled after its first season, despite its high ratings and critical acclaim.
