Goodfellas- movie 1 Goodfellas is a 1990 American crime film directed by Martin Scorsese. It is an adaptation of the 1985 non-fiction book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scorsese. The film follows the rise and fall of mob associate Henry Hill and his friends and family over a period from 1955 to 1980. Starring Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, Paul Sorvino and many others, the film narrates the story of Hill"s life in the mob, chronicling his involvement with the Lucchese crime family in New York City.
