Kyrgyzstan- movie 4 The Light Thief (2010) The Light Thief is a 2010 Kyrgyzstan drama film directed by Aktan Arym Kubat. The film follows the story of Svet-ake, an electrician living in a small Kyrgyz village who is struggling to make ends meet. When a local businessman offers him a job to install solar panels on a nearby mountain, Svet-ake takes the opportunity, but soon discovers that the businessman has a hidden agenda. With the help of his friends, Svet-ake must fight to protect his village from the businessman"s plans. The film was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2011.
