The film was produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film features the voices of Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman, Isla Fisher, and Jude Law. The film was released on November 21, 2012. The story centers on Jack Frost, a spirit of winter who discovers his true identity as the Guardian of Fun. He joins forces with the other Guardians—Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and the Sandman—to protect the world"s children from the evil spirit Pitch, who plans to engulf the world in darkness. Rise of the Guardians was met with generally positive reviews from critics and grossed over $306 million on a budget of $145 million.
