Shadow and Bone-TV series 4 Shadow and Bone is an upcoming fantasy streaming television series based on the Grishaverse novels by Leigh Bardugo. It is set to premiere on Netflix on April 23, 2021. The series was created by Eric Heisserer, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. The series stars Jessie Mei Li, Archie Renaux, Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, Kit Young, Ben Barnes, and Sujaya Dasgupta. The series follows Alina Starkov, a young soldier who discovers she has a dormant power that could be the key to saving her war-torn world. She is aided by a team of Grisha soldiers and a mysterious prince in her quest to reclaim her past and save her future. Along the way, she must face her own demons and the darkness that lurks in the Shadow Fold. Shadow and Bone is set to be an eight-episode series. It is produced by 21 Laps Entertainment and Red Eagle Entertainment, in association with Netflix.
