Smurfs-TV series The Smurfs is an animated television series that was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions and aired on NBC from 1981 to 1989. It is based on the Belgian comic series of the same name by Peyo. The show follows the adventures of the Smurfs, a group of small blue creatures who live in a village in the forest and try to outwit the evil wizard Gargamel.
