Stargate SG-1-TV series 3 Stargate SG-1 is a science fiction television series created by Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner. The third season of the show premiered on July 7, 1999, and concluded on March 8, 2000. It consisted of 22 episodes. The season continues the story of SG-1, a military team from Earth that explores the galaxy using an ancient alien device known as a Stargate. SG-1 is now led by Colonel Jack O"Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) and includes Major Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping), Teal"c (Christopher Judge), and Dr. Daniel Jackson (Michael Shanks). The third season sees SG-1 travel to new planets, battle the evil Goa"uld, and search for the lost city of the Ancients. The team also encounters a powerful new enemy, the Replicators, and deals with the consequences of their actions in the previous season. The season also sees the return of Apophis (Peter Williams), as well as the introduction of Anubis (David Palffy). The third season of Stargate SG-1 was nominated for two Emmy Awards, for Outstanding Special Visual Effects for a Series and Outstanding Music Composition for a Series. It was also nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Genre Television Series.
