It is based on Boris Vasilyev"s 1972 novel of the same name, and stars Viktoriya Isakova, Yuliya Peresild, Yuliya Khlynina, and Irina Starshenbaum. The film follows five young female soldiers stationed at a remote outpost on the Karelian front during World War II. Despite the harsh conditions of war, the women find moments of joy and friendship in their daily lives. The film was nominated for the Golden Eagle Award for Best Feature Film.
