It is believed to have been written during the Middle Kingdom period, around 2000 BC. The story follows a peasant, Khun-Anup, who is travelling to the city of Pharaoh to present his grievances to the king. On his journey, he is robbed of his donkey and goods by a group of officials. Khun-Anup protests, but the officials refuse to listen to him. He then begins to use his eloquence and wit to plead his case, and eventually convinces the officials to return his goods. The story is an example of the power of rhetoric and persuasion, and has been used as a teaching tool throughout history. It is also a reminder of the importance of justice and fairness, and the need to stand up for oneself in the face of injustice.
