Alexandru Vaida-Voievod 3 Alexandru Vaida-Voievod was a Romanian politician who served as Prime Minister of Romania from April 1929 to November 1930. He was a member of the National Liberal Party and a staunch advocate of the country"s national interests. He was also a strong proponent of the Romanian language and culture, and sought to promote the country"s economic development. During his tenure, he negotiated the end of the Little Entente, a military alliance between Romania, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia. He also signed the Romanian-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact in 1933. Vaida-Voievod was a controversial figure in Romania, as his policies were seen as too pro-German and pro-Hungarian by some, and too anti-Soviet by others. He was eventually forced to resign in 1930 due to the increasing unpopularity of his government.
