Bender is a bending unit, or "bender", from the Planet Express delivery company, and is one of the main characters in the show. He is a robot with a thick New York accent, a snarky attitude, and a love of alcohol and cigars. He is also an excellent cook, and often serves as the chef for the Planet Express crew. Bender is also known for his selfishness and his disregard for authority, which often leads him into trouble.
