Obi Wan Kenobi 3 Obi-Wan Kenobi was a legendary Jedi Master who played a significant role in the fate of the galaxy during the waning days of the Galactic Republic. He was born on the planet Stewjon and was taken as the Padawan learner of Qui-Gon Jinn. After the death of his master, he became the mentor of Anakin Skywalker and guided him until his downfall. Obi-Wan then went into exile on Tatooine, where he watched over Anakin"s son, Luke Skywalker, and eventually helped the Rebel Alliance defeat the Galactic Empire. He was portrayed by Alec Guinness in the original Star Wars trilogy and by Ewan McGregor in the prequel trilogy.
