Created by Robert Kanigher and Sheldon Moldoff, the character made her first appearance in Batman #181 (June 1966). Poison Ivy is one of Batman"s most enduring enemies and belongs to the collective of adversaries that make up Batman"s rogues gallery. She is depicted as one of the world"s most notorious eco-terrorists. She is obsessed with plants, botany, and environmentalism. She uses toxins from plants and her own bloodstream for her criminal activities, which are usually aimed at protecting the natural environment. Throughout her comic book appearances, Poison Ivy has been portrayed as a love interest of Batman. She has collaborated with fellow villains Catwoman and Harley Quinn, the latter of whom she has an on-again, off-again romantic relationship with. The character has been portrayed in film by Uma Thurman in Batman & Robin (1997) and by Clare Foley, Maggie Geha, and Peyton List in the television series Gotham.
