Rocket is an intelligent, anthropomorphic raccoon, who is an expert marksman and master tactician. His name and aspects of his character are a nod to The Beatles" 1968 song "Rocky Raccoon". Rocket Raccoon is also a prominent member of the superhero team Guardians of the Galaxy, appearing in various incarnations of the team and media adaptations, including animated television series, toys, and video games. He has been portrayed by Bradley Cooper in a series of films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Rocket"s backstory includes having been genetically engineered to have human level intelligence and bipedal body construction in order to be a caretaker for the inmates of a colony for the mentally ill. He is a master of military tactics and strategy, and is skilled in the use of various firearms from all over the Galaxy. Despite his small size, Rocket"s aggressive and fearless attitude makes him a formidable adversary.
