Solid Snake from Metal Gear 7 Solid Snake is a fictional character and the protagonist of the Metal Gear series created by Hideo Kojima and developed and published by Konami. He is a former spy, special operations soldier, and mercenary. Solid Snake is a clone of the legendary soldier Big Boss, and was created alongside his "brothers" Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake. He is often tasked with disarming and destroying the latest incarnation of Metal Gear, a bipedal nuclear weapon-armed mecha. Solid Snake has been voiced by Akio Ōtsuka in Japanese and by David Hayter in English.
