She first appeared in Daredevil #168 (January 1981). Elektra is a highly trained assassin of Greek descent, whose primary weapon is a pair of bladed sai. She has also been trained in the martial arts of ninjutsu and karate. She is an expert in the use of many weapons, including firearms, blades, explosives, and poisons. She is also a skilled acrobat and athlete. Elektra has a complicated relationship with Daredevil, whom she loves and hates in equal measure. She is a member of the Hand, a group of ninjas that serve the Kingpin, and is a frequent enemy of the Avengers. She has also been an ally of the Punisher and a member of the Thunderbolts. Elektra is portrayed by Elodie Yung in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in the Netflix series Daredevil and The Defenders.
