Pyramid I - Temple of the Great Jaguar Cuba 5 Pyramid I, also known as the Temple of the Great Jaguar, is located in the Cuban city of Matanzas. It is one of the oldest and most impressive structures in the region, and is believed to have been built by the Taíno people sometime between the 12th and 15th centuries. The pyramid is believed to have been used for religious ceremonies, and is the only one of its kind in Cuba. It stands at a height of around 5 meters, and is made up of two levels of stones, with a staircase leading up to the top.
