Qinhuangdao in China 2 Qinhuangdao is a coastal city in Hebei Province, China. It is located on the Bohai Sea, approximately 300 kilometers east of Beijing. It is the easternmost prefecture-level city in the province, and borders Tangshan to the southwest, Chengde to the northwest, and Liaoning to the northeast. Qinhuangdao is a major port city and is home to the Beidaihe resort area. It is also the site of the Qinhuangdao Olympic Sports Center Stadium, which hosted some of the football preliminaries during the 2008 Summer Olympics. The city has a population of approximately 2.3 million people.
