Rakovski in Bulgaria Rakovski is a town in southern Bulgaria, located in the Plovdiv Province. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Rakovski Municipality. As of December 2009, the town has a population of 8,890 inhabitants. The town is situated in the Upper Thracian Plain, at the foot of the Sredna Gora mountain, 25 km east of Plovdiv and close to the Maritsa motorway.
