Revelstoke in Canada 2 Revelstoke is a small city in the Columbia-Shuswap region of British Columbia, Canada. It is located 641 km (398 mi) east of Vancouver, and 415 km (258 mi) west of Calgary, Alberta. The city is situated on the banks of the Columbia River just south of the Revelstoke Dam and near its confluence with the Illecillewaet River. Revelstoke is the only municipality in Canada to have both a historic railway and a historic highway running through it. The Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) passes through the city, as does the Canadian Pacific Railway. The city is also home to Revelstoke Mountain Resort, a ski resort on Mount Mackenzie.
