Albertosaurus 3 Albertosaurus was a large predatory dinosaur that lived in what is now North America during the Late Cretaceous period, about 70 to 65 million years ago. It was closely related to the more famous Tyrannosaurus rex, but was slightly smaller. Albertosaurus was a bipedal carnivore, with a long, low skull and a large, powerful tail. Its arms were short, but it had long, strong legs and sharp claws. It was a fast and agile predator, capable of chasing down and killing large prey such as hadrosaurs and ceratopsians.
