Carnotaurus Carnotaurus is a large carnivorous dinosaur that lived during the late Cretaceous period in what is now South America. It was one of the last of the non-avian theropod dinosaurs to have evolved before the mass extinction event at the end of the Cretaceous period. It was a large bipedal predator, with a distinctive bull-like head and horns. It had a relatively short and deep skull, with a short snout and powerful jaws. Its body was heavily built, with short and robust limbs, and a long and thick tail. It was one of the fastest theropods, with a top speed estimated at around 24 mph (40 km/h).
