Deinosuchus 2 Deinosuchus (meaning "terrible crocodile") is an extinct genus of large crocodilian relative that lived 82 to 73 million years ago (Late Cretaceous period) in North America. It was one of the largest crocodilian-like reptiles that ever lived, measuring up to 10 meters (33 feet) in length. It had a wide, flat snout and large, sharp teeth, and its skull was thick and heavily armored. It was an apex predator and likely fed on large dinosaurs, such as hadrosaurs and ceratopsians.
