Pseudoancistra fish 2 Pseudoancistrus sp. is a small species of freshwater fish in the family Loricariidae, native to South America. They are found in the Amazon basin, as well as in some rivers in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. They are bottom-dwellers and feed on small invertebrates and detritus. They reach a maximum size of about 4 inches (10 cm). They are relatively peaceful and can be kept in a community tank with other peaceful species. They prefer a well-oxygenated tank with plenty of hiding places.
