Velociraptor 8 Velociraptors were small, carnivorous dinosaurs that lived during the late Cretaceous period, about 75 million years ago. They were bipedal predators, with long, curved claws on their feet and a long, stiff tail. They were about 1.8 meters (6 feet) long and weighed up to 15 kilograms (33 pounds). Velociraptors were probably fast runners and had sharp eyesight and hearing. They likely hunted in packs, using their claws and teeth to catch and kill their prey.
