Amazing Stories-TV series 1 "Amazing Stories" is an American anthology television series created by Steven Spielberg. The series originally aired on NBC from 1985 to 1987. Each episode of the series features a standalone story in the genres of fantasy, horror, or science fiction. The first season of "Amazing Stories" consists of 24 episodes. Some of the notable episodes include "Ghost Train" directed by Steven Spielberg, about a guilt-ridden man who sees a ghostly train; "The Mission" directed by Spielberg, about a World War II bomber crew trapped in a no-win situation; and "Mummy Daddy", a comedic episode about an actor playing a mummy who encounters a real one. The series is known for its high production values and attracting a number of high-profile directors and actors. Despite its impressive pedigree, the series received mixed reviews and was cancelled after two seasons. However, it has since gained a cult following. In 2020, a revival of "Amazing Stories" was released on Apple TV+.
