Starflight Starflight is a science fiction role-playing video game released in 1986 by Electronic Arts. It was developed by Binary Systems and published for the Commodore 64, IBM PC, and Apple II. The game was one of the first open-ended space exploration games, allowing players to explore an entire galaxy of over one hundred planets. Players take on the role of a starship captain, exploring the galaxy, interacting with alien races, and searching for the secrets of an ancient race known as the Precursors. The game features a variety of puzzles and challenges, as well as a complex trading system. Starflight was highly acclaimed upon its release, and was followed by two sequels, Starflight 2: Trade Routes of the Cloud Nebula and Starflight 3: The Eternal Dagger.
