Team Fortress 2 10 Team Fortress 2 is a team-based first-person shooter multiplayer video game developed and published by Valve Corporation. It is the sequel to the 1996 mod Team Fortress for Quake and its 1999 remake, Team Fortress Classic. It was released in October 2007 as part of The Orange Box video game bundle for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360. A PlayStation 3 version followed in December 2007 when The Orange Box was ported to the system. The game is set in a cartoon-like and comical style, and features two opposing teams, the Reliable Excavation & Demolition (RED) and Builders League United (BLU), competing against each other to complete various objectives within the game modes. These objectives can range from capturing a point to delivering a payload. Players can choose to play as one of nine character classes in these teams, each with their own unique strengths, weaknesses, and weapons. In order to accomplish objectives efficiently, a balance of these classes is required due to how these strengths and weaknesses interact with each other in a team-based environment. Although the abilities of a number of classes have been changed over time, the basic elements of each class have remained, that being one primary weapon, one secondary weapon, and one melee weapon. The game has been highly praised for its graphical style, gameplay, and use of character personalities.
