The Darkness 2 8 The Darkness II is a first-person shooter video game developed by Digital Extremes and published by 2K Games. It is the sequel to 2007"s The Darkness, and was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 7, 2012. The game follows the story of Jackie Estacado, the current bearer of The Darkness, an ancient demonic force of chaos and destruction. As Jackie, players will have to face the darkness within him and battle an array of enemies in an effort to protect those he loves. The game features an original story, written by acclaimed comic book author Paul Jenkins, and is set two years after the events of the original game. The game also features a new quad-wielding combat system, allowing players to use two weapons and two manifestations of The Darkness at the same time.
