Link is given the task of preventing the evil Ganondorf from obtaining the Triforce, a sacred relic that grants its holder"s wishes. To do this, Link must travel through time, defeat enemies, and solve puzzles. The game was critically acclaimed upon release, and is often cited as one of the greatest video games of all time. It won several awards, including Game of the Year from several gaming publications. It is the highest-rated game on Metacritic, with a score of 99 out of 100. It is the best-selling game in the series, with over 7.6 million copies sold worldwide.
