It is the sequel to the 1998 game Unreal. The game was released in North America on February 11, 2003 and in Europe on February 28, 2003. The game follows the story of John Dalton, a space marine from the original game, who is now a member of the Terran Colonial Authority (TCA). He is sent to investigate a mysterious alien artifact that is threatening the safety of the TCA"s colonies. As the story progresses, Dalton discovers that the artifact is part of a larger plot by an alien race known as the Skaarj to take over the universe. The game features a single-player campaign, as well as a multiplayer mode with both deathmatch and team-based game types. The game also features a variety of weapons, including a range of futuristic weapons, as well as a number of vehicles.
