Viy A story told anew 3 Viy is a classic Russian folktale about a brave young man who is sent on a mission to watch over a deceased girl"s grave for three nights. He is warned of the dangers of the dark forest, and of the creatures that lurk within it. On the first night, he is visited by a beautiful woman who tries to seduce him. He resists her advances and she leaves in a rage. On the second night, he is visited by a group of witches who attempt to harm him. He is able to protect himself and the witches flee. On the third night, he is visited by the Devil himself, who offers him a deal. If Viy can answer three questions correctly, he will be rewarded with wealth and power. If he fails, he will be taken away to Hell. Viy manages to answer all three questions correctly and is rewarded with a magical staff that grants him the power to command the creatures of the dark forest. With this newfound power, Viy is able to protect himself and the people of his village from the forces of evil.
