Warhammer 40000 Dawn of War 2 Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II is a real-time strategy-tactical role-playing video game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ for Microsoft Windows based on the fictional Warhammer 40,000 universe. It is the sequel to the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War video game series. Dawn of War II was released in North America on February 19, 2009 and in Europe on February 20, 2009. A sequel, Dawn of War III, was announced in May 2016 and released in April 2017. In Dawn of War II, players control squads of Space Marines from the Blood Ravens chapter in a campaign to stop an impending Ork invasion. As the game progresses, the player can also earn and use additional squads from the Space Marines, Eldar, and Tyranid factions. The game features a non-linear interplanetary campaign, co-operative multiplayer, and a built-in progression system. It also uses a significantly updated version of the Essence Engine, which was used in the original Dawn of War game.
