The game is set in an alternate history of 1989, where the Soviet Union, driven by a paranoid leader, launches a full-scale invasion of Europe and the United States. The player takes the role of a field commander of the US Army who must lead his forces to victory against the overwhelming Soviet war machine. The game features a single-player campaign, as well as an online multiplayer mode. In the single-player campaign, the player is tasked with leading US forces in a desperate defense against the Soviet onslaught. The game also features a variety of multiplayer modes, allowing players to compete against each other online.
