It was released for PlayStation 4 on December 7, 2017 in Japan, and worldwide on August 28, 2018. The game follows the story of Kazuma Kiryu, a former yakuza member who must travel to Sotenbori, Osaka in order to broker peace between the rival clans of the Tojo and Omi Alliance. Along the way, he must deal with his own past and the various troubles that have befallen the yakuza in the years since his departure.
