Band of Brothers-TV series 7 Band of Brothers is a 2001 American war drama miniseries based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose"s 1993 non-fiction book of the same name. The miniseries, originally produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, follows the men of Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, of the 101st Airborne Division, from their initial training at Camp Toccoa to the conclusion of World War II. The miniseries was shot over a period of more than six months in 2000, with principal photography taking place in England, Austria, and the Czech Republic. The series won Emmy and Golden Globe awards in 2001 for best miniseries.
