The series was co-created by Louis C.K., Zach Galifianakis, and Jonathan Krisel, who also serves as the showrunner. The series stars Galifianakis as Chip Baskets, a failed professional clown who moves back to his hometown of Bakersfield, California to pursue his dream of becoming a professional clown. The series has been renewed for a sixth season, which is set to premiere in 2021.
