Salaga in Ghana 3 Salaga is a town in northern Ghana, located in the East Gonja District of the Northern Region. It is the traditional capital of the Dagomba people, and is known for its large weekly market, which attracts traders from all over the region. Salaga is also home to a number of historical sites, including the old palace of the Dagomba king and the ruins of a 17th century Portuguese fort. The town is also the birthplace of the famous Dagomba musician, King Ayisoba.
