Battlestar Galactica-TV series 4 Battlestar Galactica is a science fiction television series that aired from 2004 to 2009. It was a re-imagining of the 1978 series of the same name, and was created by Ronald D. Moore. The series follows the journey of the last surviving humans from the Twelve Colonies of Kobol after their nuclear annihilation by the Cylons. The survivors are led by President Laura Roslin and Commander William Adama in a rag-tag fleet of ships with the Battlestar Galactica, an old, but powerful warship, as its command ship. The series explores themes of politics, religion, and human nature as the survivors search for a new home and attempt to keep the Cylons from destroying them.
