Statue of Shiva Murudeshwar India 2 The Statue of Shiva Murudeshwar is located in the town of Murudeshwar in the Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is a 123-foot (37 m) tall statue of Lord Shiva, making it one of the tallest statues of Shiva in the world. The statue is located on the beach of the Arabian Sea and is surrounded by the Netrani Island and the temple complex of Murudeshwar. The statue was built by the prominent sculptor and Padma Shri awardee, Shivamogga Srinivas. The statue was inaugurated in February 2016.
