Better Call Saul-TV series 4 Better Call Saul is an American television crime drama series created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. It is a spin-off prequel of Gilligan"s prior series Breaking Bad. Set in the early 2000s, Better Call Saul follows the story of small-time lawyer James "Jimmy" McGill (Bob Odenkirk), six years before his appearance on Breaking Bad as Saul Goodman; events after the original series are briefly explored as well. The series also focuses on Jimmy"s elder brother Chuck McGill (Michael McKean) and former criminal associate Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks). The show"s 10-episode first season premiered on AMC on February 8, 2015. The series has been renewed for a sixth and final season, which is scheduled to premiere in 2021.
