Tumanyan in Armenia 2 Tumanyan is a small town in the Lori Province of Armenia. It is located in the Debed River gorge, about 15 km north of the provincial capital Vanadzor. It is known for its scenic beauty and the nearby Haghpat Monastery. The town is home to a museum dedicated to the famous Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan, who was born here in 1869. The museum displays his personal belongings, manuscripts, and works of art. The town is also home to a number of churches, including the Church of the Holy Cross and the Church of St. John the Baptist.
