Black Sails-TV series 4 "Black Sails" is a television series that aired for four seasons from 2014 to 2017. It is not a movie. The series is a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson"s novel "Treasure Island" and depicts the golden age of piracy. It follows the adventures of Captain Flint, his crew, and other notorious pirates. In season 4, the war for the control of Nassau reaches its climax and the pirates must fight to secure their place in history. The series explores themes of honor, power, and the struggle for independence. Despite the harsh and brutal world they live in, the characters also show moments of loyalty, friendship, and even love. The series was created by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine and stars Toby Stephens, Hannah New, and Luke Arnold. It was produced by Michael Bay and his production company Platinum Dunes. It was filmed in South Africa and aired on the Starz network.
